How to Find Inexpensive Plus Size Women’s Clothing

Are you a curvaceous woman? Do you have a hard time finding stylish clothes that fit you without spending a fortune in popular “plus size” stores? Nothing irritates me more than walking into a department store and seeing the cutest clothes…but they’re only in the junior department! The Xtra-Lg size wouldn’t fit my 12 year old! After fruitlessly searching through the racks for an elusive size XXXX-Lg in that style top, I give up with a scowl and wander down to the “Womans” size clothes. In this section of the store I’m delighted to find about three racks of clothes my grandmother wouldn’t be caught dead in! (Yes, I’m being sarcastic about the “delighted”part.)

Luckily, there are more and more stores popping up who cater to “real” women. The real size 14 and up women that in reality make up most of America. That’s the good news. The bad news is that buying that cute, sexy little top that doesn’t make you feel like you’re wearing a tent and that is actually flattering for your figure costs you probably no less than $40-$50. For one shirt! Add that up and you’re spending about $300 just to have a shirt for each day of the week. Ouch! We usually would like some pants to wear also. I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford that! By the time I build up my wardrobe, the styles and the seasons have changed again. Even if I manage to buy some of these cute outfits, I can’t afford to go anywhere to wear them!

There are some shopping tricks here you could employ to get around the high cost of womans plus size clothes. These tips may be a little more time consuming, but they will save you tons of money!

Watch for the sales! Especially clearance sales! Most of you already know this I’m sure. If you’re willing to wear clothes next summer that were in style this summer, comb the clearance sale racks as they’re starting to bring out the fall clothes. You may have to spend a little more time rummaging around, but what a score if you can find that shorts set for like 90% off! They may be a season behind, but unless you’re really into fashion, this won’t be a problem for most ladies. Sometimes you can find stock sales on your favorite stores website also!

Check out oliveonline! You can usually find some great deals here on new or gently worn womens plus size clothes. Through our affiliation with ebay, we provide a huge selection of plus size womens clothes in one convenient location located in the store on our site. Again, you may have to spend some time searching for something you like in your size, but you can do if from the convenience of your computer.

If you’re an active person, take some cash with you when you walk or bike ride around your neighborhood. You may come across a killer yard sale! I find a lot of clothes and accessories that way, and get my exercise while I’m at it!
Some other ways to save money is to try to find clothing you can mix and match. Either with some of your existing clothes or with the new ones your buying. Buy one pair of pants that you can wear with two or three different tops.

Change it up by wearing a belt or a necklace or tie a scarf around your hips to add some color. Another good idea is to check the labels of your new clothes! You don’t want to end up spending more in dry-cleaning bills than you spent on your clothes.
